HenArt is a Dutch premium pet-food brand, founded in 2012 by Henk Verhoeven. We’ve chosen to stay small and specialist, on purpose. Instead of making more of the same, we focus on one question: which proteins are truly best for a dog or a cat, and how do we turn them into food they can’t wait to dig into?
Our answer is three protein routes, each chosen for a clear reason:
- Plant proteins in PLANTZ®, with our very own TenderCraft™ chunks (for dogs)
- Insect protein in Pro Life Science® (for dogs and cats)
- Fermentation-derived proteins in LEVENDO™ (for dogs)
Our mission
We want to give every dog and cat complete, balanced and truly enjoyable nutrition, built on proteins chosen for their body, not out of habit. Here’s what that looks like in practice:
- Health comes first, always. Every complete food we make is formulated to give a dog or cat all the nutrients they need for the life stage shown on the pack. Nothing missing, nothing in excess.
- Proteins with a purpose. High digestibility, a complete amino-acid profile, a protein your pet has rarely or never eaten before: every protein in our range earns its place through what it does for your animal.
- Taste and texture that work. Food can only help if it gets eaten. That’s why we created TenderCraft™, plant-based chunks with a real, fibrous bite, and why we gently bake our LEVENDO™ morsels instead of extruding them.
- Honest labels. We stand behind what we say. You’ll find the full declaration of every product on its product page, so you and your vet can see exactly what goes into the bowl.
Our vision
We believe the pet food of the future won’t depend on a single protein source. It will bring together the best that plants, insects and fermentation have to offer: proteins that nourish well, digest well and suit the animal enjoying them.
Today, these proteins are still often seen as an alternative. Our vision is for them to become a normal, trusted choice for every owner who wants the best for their dog or cat. Not a niche, simply good food. HenArt wants to lead the way: by developing our own technologies, by working hand in hand with science, and by proving it every day in the bowl.
